| Is this animal torture? There was a bit of debate over this on Ifilm. I don't think it's animal cruelty--yes, I laughed at the misery of this cat--but it was no more miserable than getting wet. More below... |
Is it torture for a cat to get left outside in a rainstorm or sprayed with a squirt gun for getting on the kitchen counter? Probably not. Was it a mean thing to put this cat in the pet spa--yeah, I would say so. Cats don't need to be washed. However, if they did then this is the way you'd have to do it, or they'll claw you bloody.
I have to admit though, this would a nice revenge on my cat who has now scratched the hell out of the carpet on my stairs, even after replacing his scratching post. He never used to do this and has somehow gotten bored. He's also made himself a nice hole in the blinds so he can look outside from a windowsill he's been warned repeatedly to stay off. If it's war a cat wants I say give 'em a bath. Water doesn't really hurt them, they just hate it. |
