WIRED X BERRY RUSH ENERGY DRINK REVIEW
By Cartoonist Jeff Swenson
Nothing new, nothing special, simply a solid berry-flavored energy drink

Wired X Berry flavor
Couldn't they come up with anything better for a Berry Drink than just "more flames"?

COMPANY: Unique Beverage Company
CAN DESIGN:
I have to say the can design looks like an afterthought. It is a variation on the regular Wired X 3000 drink can which I'll be reviewing later and I'm not sure I'll have too much that's good to say about that design either. But for a drink named "Berry Rush" you would think the can would be loaded with berry icons possibly bubbling up from the bottom of the can or at least be funny and have someone who looks like they're getting high off of the drink. Instead they just have some lame looking flames that remind you of a bad paint job on an early eighties van. The logo does stand out which is the saving grace of the design. I'm guessing they didn't want to spend too much money on this can design, sort of a lack of confidence in this drink line.
CAN DETAILS: 16 FL OZ, 100 Calories
PRICE: Safeway, another 3 for 4.98 special. Normal price would be 1.99 to 2.29
WEBSITE: WiredEnergyDrink.com I'm kind of surprised they weren't able to get wiredx.com as their domain. I mainly went to their site to see what they were doing to plug Berry Rush. Anything special? Well, nothing special. They simply show you the can with a breakdown of the ingredients, etc. I would have at least put it in the budget to do one wallpaper and one wired girl photo for each new drink line.
TASTE: This is a solid berry taste. Not overly sweet but has that reminder that it is an energy drink. There really isn't anything special here or new. I think Berry Rush is just meant to compete with every other Energy Drink's diversification into "juiced energy drinks." So Berry Rush was rushed to the market without much originality. I'm not saying the taste is bad, I'm saying "it's there."
AFTERTASTE: Nothing noticeable
SUSTAINED EFFECTS: Milder on the stomach I think than Taurine powered drinks.
OVERALL: It's there. Not much to say. If it was on sale in a six pack at a discount it might be worth picking up. Otherwise the whole concept is kind of blah.
WOULD I BUY IT AGAIN? It would be my 3rd or 4th choice.

GENERAL COMMENTS: Wired X simply needs to work on their promotion for this one. I don't see anything special about it and I doubt the average consumer will either.
