WIRED X 3000 ENERGY DRINK REVIEW
By Cartoonist Jeff Swenson
Another competitor in the soda wars that is up there but not really standing out. Wired X 3000 has the addictive taurine energy drink fans love, but is there anything else?

Are you going to get Wired?

Wired X 3000 next to tit
Ahh, two great loves in one picture--an energy drink resting on a breast.

COMPANY: Unique Beverage Company, Everett WA
CAN DESIGN:
Again, I'm not thrilled with the Wired X can designs. The logo lettering stands out fine which is important but the flames design just doesn't seem to fit their name. With a text logo like Wired X it makes me think of electricity or a hardcore rock band, not a flames design which is a throwback to airbrushed seventies vans or bad tattoos.
CAN DETAILS: 16 FL OZ, 110 Calories
PRICE: Part of 3 for 4.98 special. The only way to buy expensive energy drinks is on special. At 2.29 a can it adds up.
WEBSITE: Wiredenergydrink.com There's a product plug of Wired X 3000 Taurine and surprisingly this drink must be popular enough to inspire some wallpaper designs in the downloads section. But best of all there are Wired girls holding Wired X 3000 next to their breast. I can't complain about that.
TASTE: This is somewhat similar to Monster Energy. The emphasis is on the Taurine. Wired X 3000 claims to have double the Taurine than your average energy drink. Which I can believe since the current trend is how many energy ingredients can we jam into one can--this may not be healthy unless you're running a marathon. I honestly don't think energy drinks are healthy to begin with. Usually heavy amounts of caffeine makes you crash and burn, so the rush you get is not sustained.
AFTERTASTE: Basic Taurine aftertaste.
SUSTAINED EFFECTS: This drink effects my stomach just like Monster Energy. I can't drink it all in one sitting or my intestines start making noises and they feel like they're twisting themselves into knots. You might ask why I bother to down Taurine driven drinks to begin with. ... I never claimed it was the smart thing to do.
OVERALL: Good taste, decent site, nothing special overall. I'd say redesign the can, though they've probably been around long enough that they wouldn't want to switch to a new design all at once. Maybe simply evolving it to a better design would work.
WOULD I BUY IT AGAIN? Yes. I like Taurine drinks.

GENERAL COMMENTS: Wired X 3000 is a decent competitor in the Soda Wars.
