I just got word from the 2Laugh.com webmaster that his domains are being held hostage by Registerfly.com and that one of his domains was even sold without permission. Registerfly is every webmaster's nightmare. You will see no warnings on their site about them having problems so to me they seem more like a spider setting a web to capture more victims. You can read more about the complaints with this article from Big News Network If all they're saying is true this has big implications. Imagine building up a website for 5 years that finally is earning good ad revenue only to have it destroyed by a domain provider. And even worse that domain provider sells your domain to one of those annoying landing page companies because their automatic renewal process doesn't work. I personally use two domain provider services. One cheap for spontaneous ideas I might later ditch and then one that is a bit more expensive but is reliable. I won't bother to tell you the cheap one just in case they eventually pull some stunts but I can recommend Direct NIC at www.directnic.com . Fifteen Dollar domains and an easy to use setup. It's been 6 years or so and I haven't had any problems with them. Also if you see any of the 2laugh.com videos fail on this site that is directly related to Registerfly. Their actions have a ripple effect when you're working with other webmasters and sharing content.
